Masaaki HORI
Chair of the ISMRM-JPC 2021
(Department of Radiology, Toho University Omori Medical Center)
Dear all colleagues, friends and MRI enthusiasts,
It is my great honor and pleasure to introduce the 6th ISMRM-Japanese Chapter Annual Scientific Meeting!
This Society was established as the Japanese chapter of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance Medicine (ISMRM), which is considered to be the world's highest standard for MRI research, and has developed year by year. Although there are many excellent and unique MRI studies being conducted in Japan, unfortunately, I feel that the presence of Japanese MRI researchers is still lacking in the ISMRM and in the international arena. I hope that the presentations and discussions at this meeting will help people to feel closer to the ISMRM.
The 49th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Magnetic Resonance Medicine (JSMRM) and the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Asian Society of Magnetic Resonance Medicine (ASMRM) will be held on the same day at a very close venue in Yokohama, Japan, unless the pandemic of the COVID19 worsens. There are some differences in the purpose and format of the two conferences, including the differences in the attributes of the participants and the research methods (basic and clinical), and by holding the two conferences in close proximity to each other while maintaining their independence, we hope to contribute to the stimulation of participants involved in MRI research in Japan and Asia, and to the acceleration of future research corroboration.
I look forward to seeing you in Yokohama!
